It is widely known that the Boots Advantage Card provides the best rewards scheme on the high street (with the exception of Tesco Clubcard Deals). Usually you get 4 points for every pound you spend in Boots, whether in-store or online. Each point is worth 1p against future purchases from Boots.

For a limited time, Boots are now offering a bonus for shoppers – 10 Advantage points per pound spent.

These extra Advantage points will mean that you will get 10p off your future purchases for every pound you spend during the promotional period. If you’re looking to buy some of the things Boots have on offer, then don’t delay as you should try and take advantage of these bonus points.

The bonus Advantage points offer runs from today until the 6th May at Boots online store and is available on orders over £15. Points are not available on prescription items, infant milks (up to 6 months), gift vouchers/cards, gift boxes and delivery charges. This offer may also be available in-store, but only between 2nd-5th May.

Amazon, the giant of Internet stores has had a redesign, and boy was it long overdue. With no real changes being introduced since it’s inception in 1998, Amazon has relied on the familiar interface to see it’s customer through their purchases. Now however, there is a new design, and we’ll take a look at what’s changed.

First thing to note I guess is the navigation. Whilst there are a couple of links across the top (for your account/deals of the week) you will find the main store navigation has moved to the side. The menu is operated by hovering over the categories, and utilising the pop up subcategories, which in our opinion is much better as you can now jump to any page/department from the left hand menu.

Once you find yourself on a category page, you’ll find you’re faced with 2 navigational menus, one horizontal (at the top) and the other down the left hand side. Don’t worry if you think that might be confusing, because it isn’t, the left hand menu shows you the subcategories, whilst the bar at the top has other products which are related to your category, but do not fall into the category. As an example to this, we looked at the PC and Video Games page, and across the top we were offered links to the Consoles page and the Strategy Guides page as well. All in all very useful.

The product pages have had a makeover too, with the left hand menu done away with, the buying options are displayed clearer as are the ability to add to wishlist.

You’ll also notice that the familiar orange bar has changed too. It is now blue, but for the fans of the orange do not worry, it is still heavily featured throughout the site, not only in the menu.

All in all, I think these changes are for the better, and a long time coming.  It will be good to see more changes coming along, especially uncluttering the pages so that information is easier to find, but for a start, we like Amazon’s new look.

For those of you know have met or heard of Robosapien RS Media, then I’ll give you the good news first, and show you how to get it.

I guess that a good lot of you met Wow wee’s first interactive robot, simply called Robosapien, at the time he caused quite a stir, as he was the first consumer robot which you could take complete control over. The movement of the Robosapien RS Media is now more realistic than ever, with over 67 programmable movements. These can be controlled by the remote, by setting movements – puppet style, or by using any of the preset demo movements. No matter what movements there are, these can be built on to provide a unique Robot for you. When in puppet mode, you can position and move the Robosapien as you wish to form complex movements, which it will remember, or you can edit with the accompanying software package too. The Robosapien has huge repertoire of speech, which again can be built on.

Built into the head of the Robosapien RS Media, is a camera which give the user the ability to see where he goes, and truly remotely control him. Playback is shown on the LCD TFT Screen. There is a flaash memory which you can store files or music, which the Robosapien is able to replay through it’s in-built speakers.

In short this version of the Robosapien is far more programmable and the flexibility of uses is second to none, whether as a true robotics toy, or indeed as a media playing storage device too. Check out the following video showing the Robosapien RS Media’s full potential:
