So what’s it all about?
Chalenj is a fun game which gets it’s players totally involved through various activities and questions designed to suit every one from 8 to 80 years old and beyond. It all starts with a novel bit of target practice to decide who gets to go first. Throw your discs at the floor mat target and score the most points to go first. Then the dice throwing starts and movement around the board. As with most board games the space that you land on decides the fate for your turn. There are a number of types of challenges to test you, depending on the space you land on. There are mental, physical, mystery or personal challenges for you to undertake and each one can take just 30 seconds, however there is a twist!
Unless you are on a personal square, you do not need to attempt the challenge. With Chalenj, you have to decide on how you will perform with the quest, then the other players have to decide if they can do better. If they bid higher than you, then they get to do the challenge.
The types of challenge you may face are things like:
How many ABBA songs can you sing?
How many roly polys can you do around the play mat?
How many things can you name beginning with ‘G’?
How many Madonna songs can you name?
How many times can you juggle a ball?
If you land on a personal square then you have to do the challenge yourself. Which can be quite hard, considering to win the game you have to undertake 3 of these personal challenges…
