Find My Past

FindMyPast.com is an internet website based in the UK that gives people the opportunity to research their past and learn about their ancestors. They will be able to start putting their family tree together online and learn what their UK ancestors used to do to make money and how they spent their time.

Find My Past is the only UK ancestry site that is subscribed to the 1911 census, making it easy for users to access unlimited amounts of original documents and transcripts.

New users have the option to sign up for a 6 month or 12 month subscription or they can also choose to pay as they go. The 6 and 12 month subscription offers are available in Full, Explorer and 1911 Census only, meaning users can pay to access only the 1911 Census if they so choose. Users should know that access to the Census is not included in the Explorer subscription plan.

The PayAsYouGo option is perfect for those who only need to view a small amount of records, perhaps over a short period of time. For the PayAsYouGo plan, there is a credit system that is used. People can opt for the 90 day plan which is allowed 60 credits, or a 365 day plan which offers 280 credits. For each program, the credits are only able to be used for the specified period of time. If new users aren't sure how much they will be using the site, there is a 14-day free trial offer that can be used to test the site out. It should also be noted that each time users renew their subscription, they get 20% off each time.

There are also Corporate PayAsYouGo programs. These can be used by places such as libraries, archive centers and businesses.

Once users gain access, they will be able to view marriage records, baptisms and burials dating back to the 1500s. They will also be able to view migration, specialist and military records. FindMyPast.com also allows users to locate relatives that are still living. Users are given 200mb of storage to save scanned documents.
