Laura Ashley have a wide range of home furniture and clothing for women and girls. The huge brand that is Laura Ashley started from very humble beginnings, with Laura and her husband Bernard printing fabric on the kitchen table of their London home. They originally sold their home-made items to the big department stores such as John Lewis and Heal's.

Laura herself was tragically killed after falling down some stairs whilst visiting her children in 1985. The company carried on in her name after her detah, and has gone from strength to strength ever since, posting profits of more than £12m in 2007.
