Asda was founded in 1965 and began life as a small food retailer. Since then the company has grown and developed and now offers a full range of products including clothing, electricals, household goods and more recently mobile phones.

Product Range

The range of mobile phones, phone packages and accessories available on the website is extensive. Asda Mobile stocks a selection of the latest handsets including makes such as Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. Some are only available on selected networks however most are available on Asda's own pay as you go network.

With regards to call plans and tariffs, Asda mobile has a wide range of deals to choose from that cover all of the main networks. For example, if you are looking for a new contract phone then they have deals from T-Mobile, Orange, 3 and Vodafone. Each deal has a free handset with it and some have an added incentive such as cash back or free texts and talk minutes. On Pay as you Go, they have deals from Vodafone, T-Mobile and of course Asda Mobile and again they all come with one of the latest handsets.

In addition to the phones themselves, the website also offers a range of mobile phone accessories. These include audio speakers which are compatible with a number of handsets, Bluetooth headsets and ear pieces, hands free kits, memory cards, a universal adaptor which fits most of the big name brands, in-car chargers and car kits.

Ongoing Promotions

Whether you choose a contract phone, a Pay as you Go phone or a mobile phone accessory, they are all delivered free of charge. Plus, the Asda Mobile network offers an extra 10% on every top up you apply to your account. This means if you top up £50 a month then Asda gives you £5 worth of calls and texts free.

If you choose to purchase a contract mobile phone then you can get Asda insurance for a low price and the first three months cover free.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made with most of the major debit and credit cards including Visa, Delta, MasterCard, Switch and Maestro. Asda Mobile doesn't accept American Express, Solo or Electron cards though. To maintain full availability the company only allow you to purchase one contract phone per order or two Pay as you Go phones per order.

Delivery Options

For contract mobile phones that are ordered before 12pm, Asda Mobile sends the product via Royal Mail special delivery and guarantees delivery on the next working day. This service is free of charge. Orders placed after 12pm will be delivered two days later. The company will send out an email to the address you provide if the order is for some reason delayed or if the item is temporarily unavailable.

For Pay as you Go phones and accessories worth in excess of £25 the delivery options are the same. That is, the items will be delivered on the next working day via special delivery providing you order before 12pm. For mobile accessories worth less than £25, the Royal Mail recorded delivery service is used and although most items are delivered next working day, it can take up to five days at busy times.

Asda Mobile doesn't accept orders from outside the UK and similarly doesn't deliver to addresses that aren't in the UK.

Returns Policy

Asda Mobile allows you to cancel any contracts within seven days of purchasing them by phoning the customer services number and informing them of your decision. You can then return the products in one of two ways:

By post – you are responsible for the cost of postage and the safety of the products so it is advised that you send your returns by recorded delivery. You also have to ring the customer services number to obtain a reference number and the postal address.

By collection – if you phone the customer services number they will arrange a date for collection. Asda Mobile charges for this service and they deduct the cost from any money owing to you.
