Country Holidays have been offering customers the use and hire of the best holiday cottages in the British Isles for over 30 years. More recently they have branched out and now offer accommodation in Ireland, France, Scandinavia, the countries of Southern Europe and America.

Using a set of strict criteria, regional managers regularly inspect each of the properties to ensure that they meet all of the companies requirements with regards to quality.

Product Range

Country Holidays offer a range of holiday options within the UK and other selected countries around the world. You can choose from over 15000 properties, many of which have pictures and in depth details about the cottage itself, included facilities and the surrounding area. Over 4000 of the properties featured are in the UK and each has a rating which is given by the regional managers. There are properties of all sizes available and the largest can accommodate around 22 people.

The maximum length of stay for most properties is 14 nights, however, longer stays can be arranged in some circumstances. Country holidays also offer short breaks of either three nights over the weekend or four nights midweek for the same price. This means that if you book a midweek break you get an extra night free of charge.

The online search facility allows you to perform a detailed search for properties that would suit you and are available on the dates you require. To narrow the search you can choose facilities that you would prefer your cottage to have such as a swimming pool, a pub nearby, pets allowed, an enclosed garden or downstairs bedroom and bathroom facilities for those who cannot manage stairs.

Ongoing Promotions

The website constantly offers a number of last minute country holidays that usually start within the next week or two. These holidays can normally be booked for around 50% of their original cost and include UK and overseas holidays.

Additional Features

A number of the cottages advertised on the website have virtual tours as an extra so you can see the inside as well as the outside before you book. However even those that don't have the virtual tour option generally have numerous quality photos that give a good idea as to how the interior looks.

Payment Options

Cancellation Policy

The 'Booking Conditions' section of the website sets out the terms and conditions regarding cancellations and refunds. As would be expected with any holiday these terms are quite complex and for a full explanation each relevant page should be consulted.

In short, you will receive a full refund or an offer of alternative accommodation if your holiday is cancelled as a result of owner or company error. However should you need to cancel your holiday then you may or may not receive a refund depending on the reason for the cancellation. Again, the accepted reasons for cancellation are explained on the Country Holidays website. Even if you do have an acceptable reason, you still may not be refunded the entire cost if you are due to start your holiday within the following 8 weeks as a cancellation charge will be applied to your account.

Their prices vary depending on the star grading that their regional managers assign to each individual property, however it is very easy to pick up a 7 night holiday in a 3 star cottage for a few hundred pounds.
