Company Background

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is the largest privately owned hotel group in the United Kingdom. They have over 40 hotels in the United Kingdom and Spain. In 2007 Macdonald Hotels won the Customer Management National Service Award and are the AA Hotel Group of the Year Winners 2007-8. They offer the highest standards, at least four star accommodation, and endeavour to do their best to ensure guests are made to feel welcome and are very well looked after during their stay.

Product Range

The hotels range from former coaching inns and elegant manor houses to modern and contemporary hotels in busy city centres. Each hotel is renowned for its own charm and characteristics and lots of them are set in the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom. There are four Macdonald Hotels in Spain situated along the Costa del Sol in Calahonda, Estepone, Mijas Pueblo and Andalucia. The restaurants in each of the hotels are award winning with excellent menus and service.

There are leisure clubs and spas at many of the hotels as well as a selection of outdoor pursuits from clay pigeon shooting to quad biking. Another feature at several of the hotels is their own golf course; if your particular hotel does not have its own course, don't worry the helpful staff will arrange a round of golf at a nearby club for you. The choice is yours, be as active or as lazy as you want to.

Feature rooms are available and it is possible to upgrade to one of these to celebrate a special occasion.

Weddings are a speciality at Macdonald Hotels; they even employ their own Wedding Co-ordinators to ensure that this special day is everything you wish it to be. There are various wedding packages available with complimentary accommodation for the Bride and Groom on the night of the wedding as well as special rates for friends and family. Certain hotels can also accommodate Civil Wedding Ceremonies.

Macdonald Hotels also offer excellent facilities for businesses. Conference and/or Meetings Rooms are available as well as both indoor and outdoor activities for a Team Building Exercise.

Ongoing Promotions

Macdonald Hotels operate a loyalty club for regular guests. Points are awarded based on the final bill each time you stay at one of their hotels and there are two grades of membership, personal and gold. Once a member of the personal club you qualify for a 10% discount on health and beauty treatments, dedicated club members' email for information regarding points or queries. If 300 points are collected over a 12 month period, membership is automatically upgraded to Gold Status with, obviously, more benefits which include 15% discount on health & beauty treatments, a bottle of house wine or basket of fruit, complimentary drink at hotel bar to mention a few. Points may be spent in various ways but as a guide 100 points will provide a dinner for two or 400 points a short break for two at one of the Macdonald Hotels. Details of club membership are available at the Reception Desk in each hotel.

Macdonald Hotels also offer a "shop till you drop" incentive to book a conference or event at one of their hotels as they will give you shopping vouchers worth 2.5% of the total booking value and these vouchers can be redeemed at over 25,000 retail outlets.
